Jasmin is 5
Jasmin turned 5 last month. Yes, I've been slack about posting for a while now, but it occurs to me that failing to do so because there's hardly anyone around any more just adds to the problem.
So here are a few photos of Jasmin from her last year.

Jasmin-in-a-bag

Funnelhead! You might remember she suffered the indignity of an Elizabethan collar in summer when she got an abscess on her cheek. We named her Little Funnelhead for the duration. We weren't supposed to let her out but she got supervised outside time on a leash.

To make it up to her (and for all three of them) I got a cat climbing tree. Here's little Funnelhead on top of it.

Free of the funnel and in it though generally all three prefer the top perch.

Reclining regally on cushions. These last photos aren't very good quality as they were all taken at night.

What did she get for her birthday besides the usual human-grade tuna, you ask? A box! Mighty Ape incidentally is the local ThinkGeek.

Someone else has taken it over however. I had to lighten this photo quite a lot to get more than a featureless ball of blackness. The box is still here, bowed out a little from use, and Sebastian's still the usual inhabitant.

It's been getting very quiet around here lately, hasn't it... :-/

Yes, very quiet, especially fannishly, which hasn't helped with my writing as I wonder who's still around to read it. I'm getting regular kudos on AO3, but I miss talking to people here and on LJ. Mind you, I was always on the edge of fandom, probably because Vila being my main character, and writing gen.

Tabitha is in my lap squawking greetings.
I caved in and joined Twitter a few months ago when a couple of people who aren't posting very much here now persuaded me that I needed to do that to keep up with them. It's a different sort of tool, which I use mostly for chatting, but probably means I post less here; there are a few sorts of notices which seem to work more naturally there, though it's useless for longer statements.

I use Twitter and various other social media for work but I don't think it works all that well for business as everyone seems to follow over 1000 others; how can one possibly keep up?
I did accidentally join Twitter to follow a B7 group but haven't followed anyone I actually know. I'd have to form a habit of looking at least daily, which I finally do now with FaceBook. Maybe I'll have to ask people if they're there.

Where has everyone gone though? Some are on FaceBook and I see them there, but it's not the same. I like the threaded comments here.

All cats love boxes, and some of them (like Jasmin and Ashley) like gnawing at them too, though this one doesn't seem to taste as good. That's very odd about the dog leads.
Hey, did you watch 'The Story of Wales' with Huw Edwards? Greg and I enjoyed the series a lot and just saw the final one.

I can't believe she's five already :)

Me neither! And Sebastian will be 3 later this year. It really doesn't seem as if we've had any of them that long.

I must get round to making one of my drawings of her into an icon.

I can remember the problems but now I can see that collar on a cat - I only saw it on a dog.
I can see that Jasmine has a neck collar with a gem...I would like to ask what to do when I want to put such a collar on Ollie? I hope it might stop some neighbours from harming him (those who suffer from infected cats that breed promiscuitly in a pigsty that belongs to a strange people here).
Cats and boxes and paper bags...Sebastian is such lovely boy!!!

She is beautiful and looks very smart in your photos! I'd like to touch her smooth fur... :)

It's been fairly quiet in my corner of LJ too, though part of it is the summer holiday here. They're actually starting to film an MFU movie next month, so we should get a certain amount of wank over the next year or two, the fandom is still here instead of tumblr :D
I've had a tumblr for about a year now. I decided early on it was useless for fandom in terms of what i want, even within my small area of interest it was more irritating than fun. I just look at tags once in a while now.
I use tumblr more like an RSS feed now--I'm subscribed mainly to various small magazines and photography tumblrs and things like that.

I've been trying to post a little more regularly. I like looking back at old posts and reminding myself of stuff I've done/that's happened. The small, diary-like details of everyday stuff I've forgotten are interesting and bring back memories.

Well, I'm still here. This is the only medium where I can talk even halfway freely, albeit behind the lock. Too many local people on Facebook and the politics behind friending melts my head.

Where does the time go, it doesn't seem that long ago when you were posting her baby pics!
Cats have an affinity for boxes.

I sometimes go back and look at the early pics; I love the one of her being a Jedi (http://pics.livejournal.com/vilakins/pic/001scyp6). :-)

It has seemed awfully hard to post in the past year or so. I don't visit LJ much anymore, and it feels like I just don't have the energy I used to when the Farscape community was active.
But it's lovely to see Jasmin and Sebastian. My Rory turned five this year, too.

Happy belated birthday to Rory!

Was it foggy out your way this morning? I could hardly see to the end of our (admittedly fairly ling) drive.
